Allan Winn is the Director and CEO of the Brooklands Museum in Surrey, England. Brooklands is the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation. Allan is a New Zealander by birth who moved to the UK in 1974. He joined Brooklands Museum in 1989 as their Director. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a Liveryman of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators and of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers. A lifelong vintage car enthusiast, he actively drives a 1929 3-litre Bentley and is a former committee member of the Vintage Sports Car Club, having served in that capacity for 17 years. He is also an Honorary Member and past Chairman of the Aviation Club of the UK. That’s a Napier-Railton Allan’s piloting in the photo above.

His first years at the Brooklands Museum when they were in need of so much to be able to continue. This is an incredible story and well worth the listen.
After graduating with an engineering degree he turned down a job from a Ford realizing he wouldn’t fit in to the big corporate world of business but instead could use his degree to do something different.
