Pebble Beach or Bust

This year will mark my 30th trip to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Since its inception in 1950, the event has spawned a week, filled with automotive adventures and opportunities, that has become known as Car Week, a pilgrimage for thousands of automotive enthusiasts.

The challenge is how to see it all.

You can’t. Many events during Car Week are concurrent so your challenge is to pick and choose what’s best for you. Combine that with the small communities of Carmel By The Sea, Pebble Beach, and Monterey, and traffic becomes a key component of your planning. Part of the fun is that you’ll experience…

The worlds most valuable traffic jams.

Cars Yeah is a proud sponsor of  the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Concorso Italiano. You’ll see me on the lawns of both events and you can enjoy 11 Inspiring Automotive Enthusiasts on the Cars Yeah podcast that are key players in this year’s concours. While Car Week is filled with spectacular cars, you’ll discover while enjoying the events that the real reason we all keep coming back is to share and rekindle relationships with fellow inspiring automotive enthusiasts.

The car hobby really is about the people. See you there!

Well, said….I see three kids, maybe middle school, boys or girls, side by side on a beautiful day, walking home from school, each one frozen to their screens, necks paralyzed in the down looking angle…and recall my long ago teen age years, walking along with my buddy Dave and Shannon the beautiful cheerleader, pushing each other into hedges, hopping up to show off balancing on a cinder block wall, retrieving a stashed basketball to go to the courts on our way home….and now, based on those close connections of 50 years ago, help these very friends through the storms of their lives, maybe through illness, but close, always writing checks on the account started so long ago during the joyous times of our youth when we paid attention to each other, not a screen.
