So, you’re on a track with your career however, the field that you have pursued isn’t one you’re passionate about. Waking up every day and not being excited about what you are doing with your life is no way to live. How do you get from this track to a new one?
Your first step is to study a new course, corner by corner.
Racers often walk a track, to better learn each corner, before they take a a few laps. They learn the breaking points, turn in points and the proper apex and turn out lines. Here are a few ways to begin learning your new track in life.
TURN 1 Attend an event you wouldn’t normally go to in the field you’re passionate about.
TURN 2 Find people on Linkedin that have the job you want and study their profile.
TURN 3 Talk to people in the field you love. Invite them to coffee, lunch, or dinner.
TURN 4 Become a sidepreneur and use your evening and weekends to study or start a business.
TURN 5 Start a journal and write about how you see yourself in this new career. Write a new bio while you’re at it, describing your new path.
TURN 6 Create a list of companies in your field of passion and study them.
TURN 7 Attend conferences and trade shows where people go who work in your field of choice.
TURN 8 Join a Linkedin group that focuses on your field of passion.
TURN 9 Write a tagline for yourself and use it in social media.
TURN 10 Sign up for email newsletters from companies and bloggers in your field of passion.
TURN 11 Sign up for meet-ups, seminars, and professional events and attend them.
TURN 12 Listen to a podcast that focuses on what you are passionate about. If it’s automobiles, tune in to Cars Yeah.

While all of this may seem daunting in your busy life, start with one or two, and master those corners and then move on to a few more. Before you know it, you’ll be on a new course, taking laps and tracking your success in the field you love.
