Mitch Bishop is the son of IMSA founder John Bishop. He grew up at race tracks all over the country and early on became part of the IMSA family business. IMSA’s Camel GT Series was the world’s most popular professional sports car racing circuit in the 1970s and 1980s. Over the last 40+ years, Mitch has built a successful career as a marketing, sales, and software engineering leader in Silicon Valley. More recently, Mitch co-authored an impressive 372 page, coffee table book (now released) called “IMSA 1969-1989” that gives readers a fascinating inside look at his father’s life and the first 20 years of IMSA’s history. He is an active racer and sits on the board of directors of the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen, NY.
