Don’t Let The Vampires In

In the movie Lost Boys the dialogue goes like this:

Max:
Don’t ever invite a Vampire into your house, you silly boy. It renders you powerless.

[Sam turns to Edgar and whispers.]

Sam:
Did you know that?

Edgar:
Of course. Everyone knows that.

Don’t let the Vampires in, indeed.

I’ve been angry of late. Not a condition I enjoy nor do I find myself in very often, if ever. According to folklore, a Vampire can’t get into your house unless you invite him, or her inside. I’m thinking this has a direct correlation to the negativity we see on social media these days. If I allow the negativity in to my mind, I have essentially invited the Vampire in.

There’s a better way.

The car hobby is filled with positive, hard working people who are passionate about their vehicles. That is what makes it such a great group of people to associate with . So, I’ve made the decision to stop letting the Vampire in by not engaging, responding, nor opening the door. It doesn’t mean I don’t care, I deeply care. It just means I’ll be far more selective about how I spend my time. More positive car stuff. Less time with Vampires.

I hope you remain healthy and safe during these unprecedented times.

Don’t let the Vampires in. They will suck you dry.
