Dick York is an Event Advisor for the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival. He first got interested in cars going to Lime Rock in the late 50’s and early 60’s in my mother’s Austin Healy 100-6. After attending Monterey Car Week in 2005, Dick purchased a Ferrari 355 and driving on a race track. He showed the car at the Cavallino and Ferrari Nationals where it won Platinum, the Coppa Nella Machina and the National Ferrari award Coppa GT given for driving excellence. He has been vintage racing for about 12 years mainly with HSR in a BMW CSL, Ferrari 360 Challenge car and BMW E46 M3. Dick won class B-2 at the Classic 24 at Daytona in 2015. The need for speed may have been derived from flying Navy F4 jet fighters off carriers in the Viet Nam war.
