For 83 years, RUF Automobile has worked in pursuit of the perfect driving experience. In 1974, Alois Ruf Jr. took over directorship upon his father’s passing and, by 1983, had built the first RUF-badged car, the BTR. It set a production car speed record of 186 mph. Four years later, the CTR “Yellowbird” was the subject of the first ever viral video, Faszination on the Nurburgring, and set another production car speed record of 217 mph. The RUFs continued to innovate and has released many ‘firsts’ in their sports car production. RUF Automobile remains a family-owned operation, with Alois’s wife Estonia serving as CEO of the company. The two have become like family to hundreds of auto enthusiasts worldwide. Each year, RUF owners and enthusiasts travel from around the world to visit Alois and Estonia at RUF headquarters in Pfaffenhausen, Germany.
