Gary Duncan is the Founder and Owner of Duncan Imports. He has imported over 4,000 RHD vehicles since 2016 and has 2 locations, one in Christiansburg, Virginia, and the other in Smyrna, Tennessee, near Nashville. Many recognize Gary as the King of the Japanese Domestic Marketplace, also known as the JDM marketplace. He knew he wanted to be a car dealer when he was a child, and used to tell everyone that he has a special PHD that stands for, Papa Had a Dealership! He started in the business washing cars, and later, at the age of 19, acquired a Triumph franchise in February of 1972. Gary has been a dealer now for over 50 years. He has represented dealerships for Triumph, MG, Fiat, Honda, Hyundai, Acura, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Suzuki, BMW, Audi, Lincoln Mercury, Jeep, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, GMC, and Saab.

INSPIRATION
Gary’s father was his inspiration and taught him the ins and outs of buying and selling cars.
CHALLENGES
Gary was young when the gas crisis hit in the 70s. High interest rates followed, which made selling car a challenge.

A 1966 Corvette Stingray in Mosport Green that Gary bought when he was 16 years old.
