Stefan Johansson spent most of his life racing cars, with a 10-year career in Formula 1, driving for Ferrari and McLaren Formula 1. He won the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race for Porsche, spent 5 years racing Indy cars, raced sports cars, and spent over 30 years racing at the highest levels of Motorsport. In parallel, he has always had a strong interest in art and design. In 1986 when his close friend and driving colleague Elio De Angelis was killed in a racing accident, Stefan decided to pick up a canvas and a brush and paint something in his honor. Thirty-four years later his art and life have evolved into a new reality. Today, he spends the same time and focus on perfecting the craft of being an artist that he did when he was professionally racing.
