Steve Rendle is a freelance writer and editor, with a passion for all things featuring engines, wheels, and/or wings, and in particular Formula 1 cars. He is the author of Evro Publishing’s book entitled Formula 1 Technology: The Engineering Explained. His early interest in F1 was ignited by seeing John Watson win the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1981. Steve’s strong interest in engineering and hands-on vehicle maintenance resulted in him working for Haynes Publishing for many years. Initially, he researched, edited, and wrote car repair manuals. Later, he commissioned, edited and, when time allowed, wrote books about motorsports and other subjects. He competed in several seasons of hillclimbing as well as sprinting with a self-built Ford Pinto-powered Westfield. He has been a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers for over 20 years.
