Prescott Kelly is a past National President of the Porsche Club of America. He is the only person ever to be awarded lifetime achievement awards in both PCA and the 356 Registry. Today, he’s better known as Contributing Editor, writing the Porsche profiles for Sports Car Market. He also writes 5,000-word by-model market analyses for Porsche Panorama and the “MarketWatch” column for the 356 Registry Magazine. Fresh out of graduate school in 1967 Prescott’s first purchase was a 1965 356SC coupe, followed a year later by a 1963 cabriolet. It went downhill after he got his first 911 in 1982, a black 1973 Carrera RS. That led to 35 years of racing with SVRA, SCCA, HSR, and HMSA – first in a 1968 911R, then a 1965 Trans-Am 911, and lastly a 1972 STs. Further, he participated in occasional races with his 550 prototypes, 550-06, and 550-12. Retired now, Prescott spends his time seeking out special Porsches. Prescott will be a panelist at this year’s Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance.
