Most people know what they want to accomplish. What they want to have. Who they want to be. How they want to be perceived. How they want everything to turn out.
But what are you willing to do to get there?
The harder questions to answer are: How are you going to accomplish your goals? How are you going to get what you want? What do you have to do to be the person you want to be? What are you willing to sacrifice so that things turn out the way you want them to be?
To do all this you have to get out of the passenger seat and do the driving.
It’s fairly easy to show up and do what you are told to do and go where you are told to go. Follow the rules and avoid the pain. Clock in, do a task, clock out. There’s not much effort involved in being a passenger.
Next time don’t yell shotgun. Next time yell I’m going to drive.
What is driving you today and how are you going to get there?
