The New Year is almost here. If you work for someone, and that someone includes yourself, you should be asking some very important questions about now. Actually you should have asked these questions months ago but either way, ask. The first one is, “What is your plan?”
You can’t win a race without a plan.
The goal in a race is to get to the finish line. Does your boss know what that finish line looks like? Is the answer vague or crystal clear? Another question is, “Which pieces of knowledge learned from the past year will be taken forward in to the future?”
A clear understanding of what worked and didn’t is crucial.
Along the way, there are many factors that can derail a race. Understanding weakness is as important as understanding strength. Finally ask, “What do you value personally?”
Is your business more important than your family?
The answer to this question will tell you quite a bit about a person. If business is more important than family, imagine where you fall in line. Here’s to you winning your race. What’s your Plan for the New Year?
Well stated Mark! As you said should have been asking all along but this is a natural time to ask again.
Happy New Year!
Henry
What is the car pictured? Be great to have caption for pics. If you show a gas cap tell what’s it on. Thanks. Cool site / mail. Eric
Thank you for asking Eric. I snapped this photo in 2007 at Moroso Raceway in Florida during a Cavallino event. The car is a Ferrari 512 BB LM.
