Mile markers around the globe are used to show your progress. Most of the time we are happy to see the miles tick off being anxious to arrive at our destination. Some of these journeys feel like they drag on forever but more often than not the time flies by and if we’re in a hurry, we miss the most important part of the ride.
Take time along the way to enjoy the ride.
My son Blake graduated from college this past Saturday from Rhode Island School of Design, RISD. As I reflect on the time between that nervous day in the hospital when he was born to now, it feels like a blink of an eye.
Knowing what I know now, I wish I had spent more time with him.
So Blake, welcome to the next road of your life’s journey. Spend your time wisely and chase your passions. Focus on what’s important as much as possible. Family. Friends. Experiences. I’m so proud and so grateful you are my son. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Blake! RISD has an outstanding reputation. I would have liked to have studied art there myself.
