When we face bad things, do we learn and get better or, do we get bitter? It is far too easy to feel the victim, whine or cry, and allow the circumstances to break us down. There is another road to take.
Attribute your success to your failures.
The great Formula One driver Niki Lauda once said. “I always learned more from losing a race than winning.” Well said Niki. As we go through life and believe we got gypped, screwed, or were on the receiving end of a bum deal, remember this.
Those experiences prepare you for something far greater.
Decide that the experience was simply a test. Do a self-assessment on what that experience taught you. Treat the experiences as if it were preparation for even better times ahead. That way you won’t become angry, bitter, or worse, dwell on it for a long time.
Get better not bitter.
Mark, if we could all live by the advice you offer in these blogs, the world would be a much better place. Thanks, Bill
that’s a life long lesson…we hopefully get better at it as time goes bye. i practice and practice ..but still fall into the old reactions from time to time..i understand now that we can change our perspective / reaction to any circumstance in an instant. change your mind..change your life.
Loved the insight. Thanks 🙂
