Doug Freedman and his wife Genie are the Founders of Carmel by the Sea Concours on the Avenue. It’s an annual event that takes place during Car Week in August where the other events vintage racing, Concorso Italiano, The Quail, the Pebble Beach Concours and numerous other events. Carmel by the Sea Concours on the Avenue is on Ocean Avenue in the heart of Carmel and it kicks off Car Week on a Tuesday benefiting the Carmel Foundation. Theirs is a gathering of collectible cars, race cars, and multi-marques, where originality and participation are the focus with a dash of fun thrown in, all adding to the casual nature of the show. Doug started this concours 11 years ago after retiring from a career in real estate development. He’s been a car guy ever since he was a kid and what better way to throw a party every year for thousands of of your friends and automotive enthusiasts.
