The Life of Riley

I was recently invited to give a keynote speech at APR in Opelika, Alabama by their CEO and President Mitch Williams, a past Cars Yeah guest. APR provides high performance products for German automobiles. A spectacular company, quality products combined with wonderful people makes for a winning combination. And by the way, they just acquired Dinan. GoAPR!

People are what make a company great.

The focus of my keynote speeches was centered on What I’ve Learned after 1,000 Interviews. The first thing that stood out for me is that there are six basic needs we as humans need to feel good.

Significance. Variety. Certainty, Connection.

The last two needs are:  the value of growing through learning and contributing to others. The most important is giving back. Those who can figure out a career that gives them all these needs have learned the secret to a very fulfilling life.

You’ll find nearly 1,000 of these Inspiring Automotive Enthusiasts on the Cars Yeah podcast.

  1. I love your ability to narrow down the message to these six words. Each one is critical to the circle of success. The declaration of giving back is perhaps paramount to each of our communities and to the planet, too bad we do not see more of that today.
