Mitch Katz is the Founder and CEO of Premier Financial Services located in Woodbury, Connecticut. Back in 1997 he transformed the leasing industry with the introduction of the Simple Lease and Early Termination Program. This allowed the exotic and luxury car consumer to payoff or trade their vehicles at any time providing flexibility of financing and the tax benefits of leasing. Mitch’s love of the automobile began at an early age and that passion continues today. He loves the driving experience of vintage and exotic cars and you’ll find him on the road in his 1965 Alfa Romeo participating in numerous vintage rallies, including the Colorado Grand, Going to the Sun, and the Copperstate 1000. He also coordinates the annual Premier Financial Services Vintage Rally.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE

Yes, we can!

CAREER & LIFE CHALLENGES

The biggest challenge I faced since starting Premier, was the financial downturn from 2008-1010. We were getting a lot of cars back, and dealers weren’t buying as much, so it was a difficult time. We were able to persevere and sell the cars that came back. My advice to other business owners to be prepared for a “rainy day.” There will always be downturns in business, so prepare for them.

FIRST SPECIAL VEHICLE

My first special car was a 1964 Pontiac LeMans that was handed down to me from my uncle. I enjoyed it until I came across a 1965 Barracuda. I loved it and had to have it, but within the first 6 months, the engine was done. I learned a lesson to do a little research before buying a car based on passion.

BEST AUTOMOTIVE ADVICE

Do not buy a car with your heart!

Treat people with respect on a daily basis.
