INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE
Work hard, play hard, drive fast, be safe, and put family first.
CAREER & LIFE CHALLENGES
I started a business before the 2008-2009 meltdown of our economy. It was a learning experience in that it taught me to slow down. I had a small radio and tv show in my hometown of Portland, Oregon. With my success came a little money, and I started buying things like Harley Davidson motorcycles, motorhomes, and race cars, and a lot of things I really couldn’t afford. I went through a major crash in life, and I lost everything but my wife and daughter. I learned it’s not really not going through hard things that should affect you, but how you bounce back from them that matters. A door opened for me to work on Hot Rod Magazine’s radio show. Now I am on the tv show Sticker Shock on Discovery Channel. When doors opened, I took opportunities, and more doors opened. But, even though I am somewhat successful now, I always remember to remain humble.
FIRST SPECIAL VEHICLE
The special cars I’ve had have always been the last one I worked on. So my special car now is a 1995 Z28 convertible Camaro. I have totally transformed what was intended to be my daily driver car, and summer car, into a drag car!
BEST AUTOMOTIVE ADVICE
The best automotive advice I’ve received is to make it safe, make it fast, and make it fun!
RECOMMENDED RESOURCE
My friends are the greatest resources for me. I’m only as smart as my friends. I know I don’t know it all, but I will find the person who can teach me, and get that knowledge from him.
RECOMMENDED BOOK
The Art of Racing in the Rain, by Garth Stein, was a book I read on a flight. It created so much emotion in me that the woman sitting next to me asked if I was ok.
PARTING WORDS OF ADVICE
If you have a passion for anything, enjoy it. You only get one trip on this earth, so make it count
