Paul Jho is the Motorsports Senior Manager at Nexen Tire USA, joining the team after an eight-year stint at Hankook Tire. Paul brings more than 26 years of automotive industry expertise to Nexen – having touched various parts of tire industry including suspension, body kits, wheels, and rims before taking the reins of Nexen’s world-class motorsports program. Paul’s career accomplishments are particularly noteworthy because he worked his way up through the automotive world relying on his knowledge of and experience with cars, and the automotive industry. He lives in Walnut, CA where he enjoys collecting and modifying cars, mountain biking, and the occasional track day.

At a young age, I had such a passion for working with cars. The time came for me to make a change, and I took all my money from my business and transferred it to another business that had to do with bringing Japanese engines to the U.S. There was a lot of cash flow going back and forth. I didn’t make any money for months and kept waiting. Meanwhile, the guy I had been doing business with just took off. I lost so much money. I was only about 30 years old, and I lost about a half million dollars. I think I had been blinded by just making money. I learned not to chase money, but to stay focused on growing. With growth came money.
FIRST SPECIAL VEHICLE
I wasn’t able to get a car until I was about 20. My parents helped me with the down payment and I bought a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. I put every penny I made into fixing up that car. I wanted to stand out and be unique. That car helped me meet a lot of people, and it snowballed and helped me get to where I am today.
