Brake Later

I raced vintage cars and ran a Lotus 18 formula junior and a Lola T290 sports racer. It was great fun and the people were fantastic. I am grateful for the opportunity. I learned a lot and it taught me some valuable life lessons.

Do things outside of your comfort zone.

Once I got more comfortable with driving at speed I soon became frustrated that I wasn’t progressing in my lap times. A seasoned racer and friend named Dick Buckingham suggested I “brake later”. It was certainly something that put me outside of my comfort zone, gave me something to look forward to, and dread, and you know what? It worked.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Things certainly get exciting at the end of the braking zone on a racetrack. So next time you’re getting a bit too comfortable in life, get outside of your comfort zone. That’s where you grow the most and life gets really thrilling.

Simply brake later!
