Can’t Is Impossible

Do you know how fortunate I am? A spectacular benefit of interviewing 5 guests a week, twenty one Inspiring Automotive Enthusiasts™ a month, are the lessons they teach me about living a positive, productive life. This week’s no exception.

“Dream Big And Do Better”

Those are the words of Lionel’s grandmother. Lionel Selwood, President of Romeo Power, has a grandmother that gave him a loving gift when he was a child. Her quote, which became his mantra, is “Dream big and do better.”

What a marvelous inspiration.

You can hear the possibility in Lionel’s voice when he talks. He works in an industry whose focus is to improve life for everyone, making things accessible around the globe. His words of inspiration are…

“Everything is possible and can’t is impossible.”

Imagine living each day with such a vision. You can. Just ask Lionel’s grandmother.

  1. My father Ralph Carlson was lawyer. He graduated from Gonzaga U Law school in 1933 in a Class of 5 . He went on to practice law in Spokane WA until he passed at the early age of 44 in the 1950’s.
He left me a message sealed in an envelope to be opened on my tenth birthday.
Written in lead pencil were these words:
If you smoke, smoke the best—If you drink, drink the best— if you can’t pay your way –don’t go! Work hard and play hard, be kind, life is short…… Love you son.
These words have been with me for the past 70 years.
Looking back –life is short. I enjoy your interviews very much. God bless in these troubled times. John Carlson

  2. I got goose bumps. I even felt a twinge of crying coming on. Emotions. Empathy. Caring. These abstract qualities came to life in this one little story of a father who died way too young. He then left some of the best advice behind to a ten year old who had by now, as his father had experienced, no doubt, reached the age of reason and responsibility. You have sent an excellent message: God bless all of you in these troubled times.

I say we just gather up all the Covid-19 virus, put the virus on a rocket to the center of the Milkyway Galaxy and shoot it directly into the black hole at the center of our galaxy and let the virus play out there. Alex Ford
