Dreaming Big at 14,110 Feet

Pikes-Peak

You’re never too old. It’s never too late. Don’t give up your dreams. Last weekend was Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Also known as The Race to the Clouds. Drivers and teams in cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more raced up a mountain that climbs to 14,110 feet on a 12.42 mile road course with over 156 turns. Pikes Peak has been run since 1916 and most of those years it was dirt and gravel.

Pikes Peak is a deadly serious place.

Motorcycle rider Carl Sorensen lost his life during practice. My condolences to his family, friends, and fellow racers.

Four Cars Yeah guests ran this year and despite starting in 80 degree heat and finishing in the snow, each accomplished life long goals and set new records for themselves and in their classes.

Jeff Zwart won his 8th Class Championship.
•  Dominic Dobson dusted off his racing helmet after 17 years and won the Unlimited Class, Rookie of the Year, and finished 7th overall.
Justin Wilson took his first run at the mountain and got to spend his birthday tacking his life long goal of racing up the mountain.
•  Dennis Palatov and his team won their class despite the many challenges the mountain threw their way.

It’s time to think about what you want to do in life.

Get in the car and drive baby drive!
