Never Give Up

VintageAutoPosters

Since 1923 the endurance race Le Mans has been testing men, women, and machines. Last weekend was the 84th running of this historic race. Once again, dreams were made and shattered and lessons were learned. As in racing and in life one thing this year’s race proved again…

Never ever give up.

On the beginning of the last lap, after 23 hours and 57 minutes, Toyota was ensured a victory and Porsche was poised to finish second. But it was not to be and with one lap to go, Porsche wins Le Mans for the 18th time, holding the record for the most Le Mans victories. And the rest as they say is history .

So even when you think it’s over, there’s always a chance.

I’ve interviewed over 75 racers on Cars Yeah and every single one quotes the same mantra. Never, ever give up. It is a great mantra for any endeavor and challenge you choose to take on. So when you are ready to throw in the towel just think – Le Mans. A big congratulations to Ford on their return to Le Mans winning their class in the awesome newly designed Ford GT.

The artwork above is the very first Le Mans poster and it is available at VintageAutoPosters.com

  1. wouldn’t it be nice to see real cars at le mans and not these technologically masturbatory prototype things that few care about per se? miatas, the brz twins, the supercars, the merc and bmw coupes, mustangs with various engines. we got 911 variants–where are the caymans? is porsche afraid they’d show up that 911 design? yep there are some gt-ish ferraris. big whoop. corvettes don’t even have the same DESIGN of front suspension. whole deal expensive and pathetic.
