Tammy Kaehler is a writer, author, blogger, and racing expert who lives in Southern California, with her husband and their many cars. When Tammy discovered the racing world, she was hooked by the contrast between its top-dollar, high-drama competition, and friendly, family atmosphere. Mystery fans and racing insiders alike have praised her award-winning Kate Reilly Mystery Series (which includes Dead Man’s SwitchBraking PointsAvoidable Contact, and Red Flags), and Tammy takes readers back behind the wheel in her fifth entry, Kiss The Bricks.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

CAREER & LIFE CHALLENGES

In 2004, I came up with the idea of writing my books. I was very fortunate to have secured an editor quickly. We sent the first book out to publishers and waited and waited. We waited four and a half years before the book was accepted. Those years were tough. People told me I should be writing the next book, but I had such ups and downs, and it was sometimes difficult to convince myself to keep writing. I realized I should keep going for myself, not for anyone else.

FIRST SPECIAL VEHICLE

The first special car to me was my father’s 1957, hard-top, convertible T-bird. I can remember riding in that car with my father, and holding an umbrella over my head when it began to rain.
