CAREER & LIFE CHALLENGES
There are no failures, only learning experiences. And I’ve learned a lot! One of the biggest challenges I faced in one of my earlier companies was the ability to outreach and share communications. One of the ways I am overcoming this with PITFUND is by using social media, podcasts, online streaming, Facebook groups, hashtags, etc. It’s important to get your message out there clearly, concisely and consistently. If you do not have a lot of cash to get a start-up going, be respectful and polite to others in groups or in person. Don’t post a lot of stuff in groups without permission. I reach out to leaders and explain what I’m doing, and they are usually accepting of my mission, and give permission to get my message out. Always be genuine, and don’t be a money grabber! Add value to other people without always expecting a payout.
FIRST SPECIAL VEHICLE
Back in the 80’s, I had a Toyota pickup 4×4 I built that I would go off-road driving in at a place called the sandpits in Bedford, NY. My friend also had a truck, and we’d go together. One day, we had been ripping it up out there, and I couldn’t find him. I pulled over and yelled, and he was over in the motocross section, and I was still in the truck section. I went over, and he had his trucks lined up to do a jump. He told me to follow him to do the jump, and I told him I’d film him. He jumped, and he bounced, and bounced, and bounced…and finally stopped when he hit a sapling. The look on his face was priceless!
