Jan Matthias has been actively involved in the design profession for over 35 years, starting out in the position as chief designer for Porsche Design in Austria where he worked with Butzi Porsche, responsible for product design and project acquisition in Europe and the United States. In 1979 he started his own design business and worked in a wide variety of industries and countries. In the late 90s, Jan worked at Designworks/USA – BMW in Los Angeles on two specific aircraft interior design projects while supporting their international marketing efforts. He also worked with The Boeing Company in Seattle. He has earned awards from Art Center College of Design, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the City of Beverly Hills, the Florida Design Council, Stuttgart Design Center and he is a recent recipient of the prestigious ‘Red Dot’ design award in Germany.
