David Lillywhite is the Editorial Director at Hothouse Media. David ran away from an engineering career to join the UK automotive publishing circus in 1992, and has been involved with classic car publications ever since. In 2003 he was co-founder of Octane magazine, which he edited until leaving in 2017. After a year practicing the dark arts of digital publishing, he returned to print, to co-found the new quarterly magazine Magneto. In between magazine deadlines, he’s owned more than 40 classic cars, several of which he’s restored at home, and he has raced a Caterham and an Austin A35. Currently receiving his wrenching, welding, and hammering attention are his grandfather’s 1971 Saab 96 V4, a 1996 Prodrive Subaru Impreza WRX wagon and a 1976 Zip Shadow racing kart.
