John Oreovicz is a lifelong car enthusiast, whose passion led him to a successful and fulfilling career as a motorsports journalist. He attended the Indianapolis 500 for the first time in 1978 and worked the Indy car beat as a writer and publicist for nearly thirty years. His professional affiliations included ESPN and National Speed Sport News. John has authored numerous Indy car-themed books; his latest being “Indy Split” that will be released by Octane Press on May 30. The book focuses on the politics and infighting that prevented the sport of Indy car racing from achieving its potential, allowing NASCAR to become synonymous for racing in America. Known within the industry as “Oreo,” John lives a short walk from Turn 1 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
