Alexander Searle has been selected as a finalist for the Mazda Motorsports Spec MX-5 Shootout. Karters compete for a Spec MX-5 Shootout slot via a combination of physical and mental testing that determine five Mazda scholarship recipients. His passion for racing was ignited when he was just 4 years old after attending a Ferrari event at Homestead Miami Speedway. He started driving karts at the age of 7 and was racing competitively at the age of 14. Alexander is a Grand National Champion in go karting, a race winner in the Lucas Oil Formula Car race series and had racked up a number wins and championships. Today Alexander is 18-year-old and a first-year student at the University of Central Florida studying Mechanical Engineering.
