Fred Veitch is a Pike Peak racer, organizer, supporter, and all-around racing cheerleader. Long before Fred ran his first Pikes Peak Hill Climb, he was a lifelong motor-racing and Porsche enthusiast who can count among his various former rides at a 906 and the first Porsche 930 in the USA. In 2012 he ran the Hill Climb and again in 2013 and then won the Time Attack II class in 2014. He auto crossed and rallied a Ford Cortina, ran west coast POC and PCA events in the early 70s and has owned and raced numerous Porsches, including a Porsche tractor! He’s been the Pikes Peak Chairman, Founded the AMR PCA Region in 1972, has run at the Bonneville Salt Flats, and still races a Porsche 996 in POC, PCA, and NASA events. Fred also runs, what he calls, an ‘Ugly Green Mustang’ he named The Thirsty Turtle in 8-hour endurance races. Fred’s recently retired from his family development business allowing for more time to play with cars.

My friend owns that 1975 930 Turbo now,
Hi Fred. I was with you back in the seventies with you as a charter member of the Alpine Mountain chapter of the PCA. My cars were a ‘71 911 T and the Green ‘74 Carrara that you called “F-ck You Green” Excuse my reference to that name, which I dearly loved. And you referred to the three Carrera drivers, Hal Wright, Paul Fairchild, and myself, as the “Carrera for lunch Bunch”. I so remember when you took delivery of the 930 Turbo, as well as your fabulous Carrara 6. Those were stellar days. Keep your foot in it and the shiny side up.
