‘Nitro’ Joe Morrison is a drag racer who has been on the track for over 15 years. In 2011 he was the North-East Timing Organization Comp Eliminator Season Champion. After 3 seasons of racing part time in Top Fuel, Joe is making the change to Nitro Funny Car this season and plans to make his debut in his second NHRA pro class later this year. He is a second generation drag racer following in the footsteps of his father Chuck, Joe was inspired by the legends in the sport including Jungle’ Jim Libermann, ‘Big Daddy’ Don Garlits, Don ‘The Snake’ Prudhomme, Richard Petty, and Dale Earnhart. After losing his teammate Mike Gillespie to an illness, Mike made it his mission to honor his friend’s legacy along with inspiration to his father Chuck who was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He created Right2Breathe to build awareness about the disease and strive to help others with the affliction. His friends and fans call him Nitro Joe.

INSPIRATION

Figuring out how to help other people learn about and early diagnose lung diseases through his Right2Breathe program.

A 1969 Camaro ‘SS Clone’ that Joe modified and a 1990 Electroglide Classic Harley Davidson that was his father’s bike.
