Luca Dal Monte is a Senior Public Relations executive for luxury brands in the automotive sector, turned best-selling and award-winning author with top-level experience in communications for Ferrari and Maserati. He was a key
member and the Communication Strategist of the team that brought Maserati back to the United States and later relaunched it worldwide, in what was one of the most dramatic company turnarounds in recent automotive history. At Ferrari, during Michael Schumacher’s record-breaking five in a row Formula 1 World Championship titles, Luca was in a privileged position to witness first-hand sports history in the making. He is the author of thirteen non-fiction and three fiction books. Today, Luca shares his book “Enzo Ferrari: Power, Politics, and the Making of An Automotive Empire,” published by David Bull Publishing.

INSPIRATION

Luca wanted to write about Enzo Ferrari in a different way than the man had previously been portrayed.

CHALLENGE

The length of the book was becoming a challenge when Luca hit 800 pages and had more to write. It took 8 years to complete the book. In the end it became 1,100 pages long, which is a publisher’s challenge due to the cost.

SPECIAL AUTOMOBILES

Enzo always said that his favorite car is the next one. However, he liked 2+2 cars the best.

The 1963 Ferrari 250 SWB is Luca’s Ferrari of choice.
