Steve Contarino and his wife Kim are the owners of Checker Motor Cars in Haverhill, Massachusetts. In addition to buying and selling collectible automobiles of all marques his passion lies with the classic the Checker Automobile. They are a worldwide supplier of parts and restorers of the iconic Checker Automobile. Steve is a member of the Society of Automotive Historians, the Rolls Royce Owners Club, Checker Cars Club of America, and the Tucker Owners Club of America.

Discovering a way to recreate parts for the first generation Checker Automobile that retain the classic look, feel, and fit while integrating new technology in to those parts.

AH-HA MOMENTS

Realizing that integrating the new technology to the old Checker Automobile had to be integrated in to every part of the car and not just some of the parts. Then they took it two steps further to a six-door and two-door sport pickup version Checker.

FIRST SPECIAL CAR

A four door limousine Checker concept car, the Ghia Centurion designed by Tom Tjaarda, that had been sitting outside under a tarp for over 40 years.
