Tim Willard was four years old when he sat on his father’s lap and steered the family’s Pontiac Chieftain down a dirt road. In high school he worked at a local Alfa Romeo dealership, learning his craft on Italian marques including Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. He was a race mechanic with some top teams competing in Formula Atlantic, Indy Lights, and IMSA GTP. Later he restored cars with past Cars Yeah guest Butch Dennison*, who then worked with Pete Lovely at Pete Lovely Racing. He served as a tech with BMW Northwest and then spent 15 years at Griot’s Garage as a product development specialist and then a curator and restorer of the owner’s private collection. Today Tim is a senior restoration technician at Dennison International in Puyallup Washington where they restore Pebble Beach winning automobiles and service vintage race cars and touring cars for their clients.
