What Would Marcus Drive?

After ten and a half years, and over 2,500 discussions, with Inspiring Automotive Enthusiasts™ I am handing the keys to the new driver, producer, host, and owner of Cars Yeah Ginger Baker Rust. She will carry forward the brand concept, something I had always planned would happen. I encourage you to listen to my talk with her, to support her, and continue to be inspired by Ginger’s voice in the New Year.

Life is about change.

The Stoic Marcus Aurelius suggested we think of how many changes we’ve already seen so we can think of change differently;  “The world is nothing but change. Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature’s delight. Everything’s destiny is to change, to be transformed, to perish.”

I have promoted many authors and books on Cars Yeah. The newest is a very old book titled Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Maybe I should write a book about what I’ve learned after so many inspiring discussions. What say you?

Why is change so difficult?

The stoic Seneca said “It’s not because things are difficult that we dare not venture. It’s because we dare not venture that they are difficult. You need a change of thinking rather than a change of climate to manage change.”

It’s a mind shift and shifting always induces change.

Stoics don’t just accept inevitable change . . . they also believe that in every change, even changes that seem to be obstacles, there is an opportunity to practice virtue and better ourselves. Embracing changes and finding how to utilize them for your own benefit is a very Stoic mindset.

“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” – Seneca

I wonder what kind of automobiles the great stoics would have driven? I’m guessing they would have had many different rides in their stables.
