Who Has The Wheel?

Yes you could fail. The tires and wheels could come off in a high-speed corner and in an instant everything could be out of your control. The race you decided to run could all be dashed in an instant by any number of random unexplained or clearly explained situations.

Yes you could crash and burn.

I’m speaking metaphorically here when it comes to chasing your dreams and living the life and career you wish you could live. Your dreams may be fraught with the possibility of failure. Your family and friends may tell you it is too risky. The odds are probably against your success. But these are poor excuses to not explore a venture that could fulfill your dreams.

It is a big leap between dreaming and doing.

Nearly every guest I’ve had the pleasure of talking with on Cars Yeah feared the crash and burn. They feared rejection. They feared failure. They feared looking bad to their peers and the public. However their passion and drive overcame these fears. Instead they strapped themselves in and turned the key. They took the drive

They decided the personal risk was greater if they didn’t give their dreams a chance.

It is easy to talk your brain in to staying on the sidelines. But in the long run, the result of that decision with crash and burn your internal spirit. So, what is holding you back?

  1. Well said Mark. Better to get in there and enjoy the process. They say one of the benefits of getting older (and hopefully wiser) is that people start to worry less about what others think. So hopefully that frees them a little more to pursue their creative interests.
